Victoria and Albert Museum

Victoria and Albert Museum

See everything from design and fashion, to photography and architecture.

This is a surprisingly calm museum in comparison with the Science and Natural History museums. However, it is a gem not to be missed. They are fully prepared
for family visits and there are lots of exciting hands-on exhibits throughout the museum – just look for the hands-on symbol on the museum map. The majority of these are to be found in the British Galleries
and include trying on a corset, building Crystal Palace or making a book plate. There are also a number of family trails to follow.

At the weekends, there are special drop in design events and you can also borrow a free backpack and follow one of a number of tours from imagining you are an Indian Emperor preparing
for a spectacular party to exploring the colour, design and shape of decorative glass.

This is a museum that will appeal to teenagers as well as younger children. Teens are likely to be interested in the photography and also the fashion galleries where they can have fun looking at trends up to the present day.
