Tate Modern

Tate Modern

The Tate Modern is an impressive modern art gallery with a huge hall and a selection of activities for kids

You enter the gallery via the Great Hall which is breathtaking. It is absolutely enormous and there is usually an art installation
on show of enormous proportions. Kids will have plenty of space to charge around without bothering anyone.

There are plenty of lifts and escalators to take you up to the floors where the main art collections are housed. There are also
some really good activity sheets for kids – just ask at the information desk.

Sometimes kids struggle to understand that what they are looking at is “art” because most of the exhibits are not representational
paintings. It certainly makes for some interesting questions and will get you thinking about modern art!

Finally, there is an enormous shop on the ground floor which is worth a visit. They have some original books and presents for kids
that are worth looking at and you may want to stock up for future birthdays and christmases.

Fantastic art gallery, and the art trolley is great on a wet/cold weekend for keeping the kids happy. Really good boat trip between both Tate galleries too.
