London Aquarium

The Sealife London Aquarium is the perfect venue for a rainy day where you can see “Nemo” and the sharks

The Aquarium is a good place to take the kids, especially on a rainy day, and it is even suitable for little ones. The sharks and clown fish (aka Nemo!) are particularly popular. Throughout the day there are free drop-in talks and feeds so you can learn more about the animals in certain zones. However, the times often change so do check before your visit. Also bear in mind that due to its location in Central London it is fairly limited as far as aquariums go. Still, there are great hands on activities for kids and it is conveniently situated on the South Bank next to the London Eye.

A top tip is that it can become stuffy on hot days so do take refreshments.

I took my 2 year old ‘odd-son’ – or whatever the secular equivalent of godson is – there a couple of days ago. He loved it – especially the sharks and the “Nemo” look-a-like.

We went on a hottish day, and it did become stuffy down there, so were glad we had some water. Also, the cafe upstairs is fine, but it might be worth taking a short walk down the river to the South Bank Giraffe (by the Royal Festival Hall)
