London weather is very unpredictable. It is commonly said that you can have the weather of all four seasons in a single day! So be prepared.
As the saying goes … there is no such thing as bad weather, only wrong clothing.
A top tip is to pack one of those pocket umbrellas in your bag!

Spring
Spring in London runs from around March until May. Temperatures are in the region of 11° to 15° C (52° to 59° F) and with the arrival of British Summer Time at the end of March, the days start getting longer. However, be prepared for a bit of rain because spring is well known for it’s April Showers – there can be a downpour one minute and then it will be sunny the next!

Summer
Although it varies, the summer starts in about June and finishes at the end of August. Temperatures average 18° C (64° F) and are generally very pleasant. However, some years there are heatwaves and other years are very wet.

Autumn
Autumn starts in September and runs continues until the end of November. Temperatures are similar to Spring and are usually around 11° to 15° celcius (52° to 59° F). The days and often lovely and crisp but they will become shorter at the end of October when British Summer Time ends.

Winter
At the beginning of December Winter arrives and the cold weather stays until at least February. Typical temperatures range from 2° to 6° C (36° to 43° F) and can feel quite chilly. Unfortunately, it does not often snow in London but when it does the city looks quite magical.

Rain
With a whopping average of 13 rainy days each month make sure you take an umbrella with you! A lightweight raincoat might also be a good idea, especially for the kids. Don’t worry, it won’t spoil your trip as London is great fun whatever the weather.
